Format: Commander

Commander: Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker builds a mono-black aristocratic engine that wins by repeatedly sacrificing creatures with power 1 or less. The primary plan is to land Shirei alongside a free sacrifice outlet, then use death and enters-the-battlefield triggers from Serrated Scorpion, Tattered Mummy, Cauldron Familiar, and Death Cultist. Shirei returns every sacrificed creature at the beginning of the next end step, so the same creatures can be sacrificed again in that same end step, roughly doubling each turn's drain. Hand disruption and Mesmeric Fiend strip answers, while targeted removal handles important creatures. Kaya's Ghostform and cheap equipment protect the commander. There is no hidden commander; every card is chosen to feed Shirei's end-step recursion.
