The Locust God by user2401356

Format: Commander

Commander: The Locust God

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

The Locust God leads a classic Izzet draw-go strategy that turns every card draw into a flying 1/1 Insect token. The deck's primary game plan is to cast the commander, deploy mass-draw effects (wheels, repeatable draw engines, and burst spells), then convert the resulting token swarm into direct damage via Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, Cavalcade of Calamity, and Psychosis Crawler. Secondary win conditions include the infinite-damage combo of Niv-Mizzet, Parun or Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind with Curiosity, and the "draw your deck" lines using Laboratory Maniac or Thassa's Oracle. The deck is a high-volume card-advantage engine that pressures opponents on multiple axes, but its speed and consistency are tempered by a modest tutor suite and a reliance on the commander to reach critical mass.
