Deck overview

This deck is a Jeskai Equipment Voltron build helmed by Captain America, First Avenger. The core game plan revolves around casting Captain America on Turn 3 and using his Catch ability at the beginning of combat to attach massive, high-cost Equipment like Colossus Hammer or Excalibur, Sword of Eden for free. By bypassing hefty equip costs, the deck accelerates lethal commander damage as early as Turn 4. Redundant tutors such as Stoneforge Mystic and Steelshaper's Gift ensure consistent access to weapons and protective boots. The commander's Throw ability doubles as instant-speed removal by hurling high-mana-value equipment at opposing threats or directly at opponents. A deep suite of protection spells and a Sunforger toolbox safeguard the commander against targeted removal and board wipes, while an incidental Basalt Monolith and Zirda, the Dawnwaker combo provides an alternate infinite mana finish.
