Deck overview

Ghoulcaller Gisa commands a classic mono-black Zombie tribal deck focused on board expansion, lord buffs, and aristocrat drain. The strategy deploys early utility Zombies and mana rocks before casting Gisa on Turn 4 or 5. Once active, Gisa converts high-power creatures into swarms of 2/2 black Zombie tokens. These tokens are empowered by a dense suite of lords, including Death Baron, Lord of the Accursed, and Undead Warchief, granting menace, deathtouch, and combat buffs. Aristocrat engines like Ayara, First of Locthwain, Vengeful Dead, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel punish opponents for creature deaths and exploit high black devotion. While the deck boasts immense board presence and steady card draw through Undead Augur and Cryptbreaker, it lacks stack interaction, artifact removal, and protective equipment. As a result, it relies on graveyard recursion like Lord of the Undead and Oversold Cemetery to rebuild after opposing sweepers.
