Auntie Ool by user8369216

Format: Commander

Commander: Auntie Ool, Cursewretch

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated -1/-1 counter synergy build helmed by Auntie Ool, Cursewretch, a value engine that draws a card whenever a -1/-1 counter lands on a creature you control (or drains opponents if it lands on theirs). The core strategy is to spread -1/-1 counters across the board using a dense suite of wither creatures, ETB triggers, and proliferate effects, then capitalize on that state with payoffs like The Scorpion God (draw on death), Kulrath Knight (locks opponents' creatures with counters), and Flourishing Defenses (army of tokens). The deck wins through incremental combat damage, board control, and eventual value advantage-there are no infinite combos, but the grind is relentless. The commander is the primary draw engine, making its protection critical to the game plan.
