Deck overview

This Dimir control deck uses Toxrill, the Corrosive to establish an asymmetric board lock and resource engine. The game plan focuses on developing mana through resilient rocks and lands during the early turns while holding up efficient interaction like Mana Drain and Counterspell. On Turn 6, casting Toxrill applies continuous -1/-1 slime counters on every end step, decimating opposing creatures, nullifying commander-based strategies, and spawning 1/1 Slug tokens. The deck translates this board control into victory by leveraging proliferate engines (Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus, Yawgmoth, Thran Physician) to accelerate counter growth, alongside aristocrats drain engines including Mirkwood Bats, Blood Artist, and Massacre Wurm. Secondary synergies such as Maha, Its Feathers Night provide instant one-sided board wipes. Even without infinite combos, the combination of overwhelming card draw from sacrificed Slugs, persistent creature suppression, and life drain closes out games in two response cycles.
