Deck overview

This Golgari deck centers on Shelob, Child of Ungoliant to turn a tribe of high-toughness Spiders into deadly combat threats and board-controlling removal engines. The game plan relies on deploying land ramp during the opening turns, establishing low-cost Spiders, and casting Shelob on turn 5. Once Shelob is active, every Spider gains deathtouch and ward {2}, allowing low-cost fight and bite spells like Infectious Bite and Prey Upon to destroy any opposing creature while creating Food copies of them under your control. The deck grinds out victory through incremental combat damage, asymmetric board control via Swarmyard Massacre, and token swarms generated by Arasta of the Endless Web and Lolth, Spider Queen. While resilient against damage wipes and targeted removal due to high toughness, regeneration, and ward protection, the deck relies on fair combat over multiple turn rotations to defeat three opponents.
