Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari midrange tribal deck built around Shelob, Child of Ungoliant. The game plan focuses on deploying efficient mana ramp and low-curve Spiders in the opening turns, then casting Shelob on Turn 5 to turn the entire battlefield into a lethal web. With Shelob in play, every Spider gains deathtouch and ward {2}, turning one- and two-mana fight spells like Bite Down and Master's Rebuke into instant-speed removal that destroys opposing creatures and steals them as Food artifacts. The deck grinds out opponents by combining combat damage from Shelob and Spider tokens with incremental drain effects from Ishkanah, Grafwidow and Rotwidow Pack. While it boasts formidable board control against creature decks and excellent combat deterrence, it lacks fast combo finishes, stack interaction, and deep board protection, making it vulnerable to sweepers.
