Deck overview

This deck is a classic Golgari midrange reanimator deck commanded by Meren of Clan Nel Toth. The strategy centers on filling the graveyard with self-mill creatures like Stitcher's Supplier and sacrificing utility pieces like Spore Frog to accumulate experience counters. Meren continuously loops these creatures between the graveyard and the battlefield, generating steady card advantage, controlling combat steps, and accumulating board presence without spending mana. In the mid-to-late game, the deck transitions from value generation to lethal burst damage using Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord paired with a massive Lord of Extinction, draining all three opponents simultaneously. Backup win conditions include mass reanimation via Patriarch's Bidding and overwhelming combat damage from high-power threats like Colossal Grave-Reaver and Daemogoth Woe-Eater. The deck excels at out-valuing opponents in drawn-out games but remains sensitive to early graveyard hate and fast non-combat combo strategies.
