Deck overview

This deck is a classic Izzet battlecruiser strategy commanded by Jhoira of the Ghitu. Its primary game plan revolves around deploying Jhoira early, paying two mana to exile massive high-mana-value spells like Darksteel Colossus, Dragon Mage, and Ashen Firebeast with four time counters, and casting them with haste once their counters expire. Top-deck filtering tools such as Sensei's Divining Top, Serum Visions, and Index help manage draw quality and support high-CMC cards like Erratic Explosion and Timesifter. The deck includes narrow, efficient interaction like Annul, Dispel, and Trickbind alongside equipment like Lightning Greaves and Whispersilk Cloak to protect key pieces. Because the suspend mechanic delays payoffs by four turn cycles, the strategy trades early game speed for telegraphed late-game board impact.
