Deck overview

This deck is a mono-red discard-matters aggressive deck helmed by Jiang Yanggu, Alone. The strategy revolves around leveraging rummaging and looting effects—such as Faithless Looting, Tectonic Reformation, and various cycling cards—to feed cards into the graveyard while triggering benefits across discard payoffs. Once Jiang Yanggu, Alone hits the board, attacking with a single creature loots and places +1/+1 counters equal to the number of cards discarded that turn. The deck attempts to close out games using commander damage bolstered by combat tricks like Bulk Up, Antagonize, and Team Tactics. However, because it runs minimal ramp and interaction, the deck develops at basic curve speeds, relying primarily on fair combat damage to defeat opponents sequentially. It is vulnerable to targeted removal and sweepers due to an absence of reactive protection.
