Deck overview

This Selesnya deck leverages Samwise Gamgee to turn every nontoken creature into Food tokens, fueling an extensive web of artifact, token, and lifegain synergies. The deck accelerates in the midgame using mana engines like Jaheira, Friend of the Forest and Night of the Sweets' Revenge, which convert Food tokens directly into green mana. Card velocity is maintained through Peregrin Took, The Gaffer, and Caretaker's Talent, while Samwise provides built-in graveyard recursion for historic permanents. The primary win condition is the two-card infinite combo of Rosie Cotton of South Lane and Scurry Oak, which creates arbitrarily large armies of Squirrel tokens. Alternatively, the deck closes games via combat overruns with Night of the Sweets' Revenge or go-wide token swarms from Farmer Cotton and Treebeard, Gracious Host. Premium protection spells like Clever Concealment and Flawless Maneuver safeguard key permanents against opposing board wipes.
