Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Meren of Clan Nel Toth leads a Golgari aristocrats deck that grinds value through sacrifice and recursion. The primary plan uses Meren's experience counters to return creatures each end step while drain effects from Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat and Dina, Soul Steeper punish every death. Sacrifice outlets like Phyrexian Altar, Ashnod's Altar, Warren Soultrader and Pitiless Plunderer generate mana and Treasures to loop Gravecrawler for infinite drains. A secondary path buffs a huge creature - Jumbo Cactuar or Yargle and Multani - then flings it with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. Bolas's Citadel and Razaketh provide hidden engine power, tutoring and playing from the top of the library.
