Commander: Vivi Ornitier

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a spellslinger combo deck built around Vivi Ornitier, who grows with each noncreature spell and provides mana equal to his power. The primary plan is to enchant Vivi with Curiosity or Ophidian Eye to draw a card on each ping, then chain cheap instants and sorceries to generate mana and storm count, finishing with Grapeshot or direct damage from Guttersnipe, Coruscation Mage, or Vivi's own ping. The deck also uses Underworld Breach to recur spells and a handful of Transmute cards (Muddle the Mixture, Dizzy Spell, Drift of Phantasms, Ethereal Usher) to find key pieces. Extra turns from Savor the Moment and Time Stretch provide additional setup turns. The commander is the central mana engine and combo piece; the entire game plan revolves around keeping Vivi on the battlefield and growing him.
