Deck overview

This deck uses Magnus the Red to turn creature token swarms into massive mana discounts for instant and sorcery spells. In the early game, cheap permanents like Young Pyromancer, Third Path Iconoclast, and Vivi Ornitier create creature tokens while smoothing your draws. Once Magnus enters the battlefield, every token reduces the generic mana cost of your spells by {1}. This cost reduction lets you cast large card-draw spells such as Mathemagics and Finale of Revelation for just colored mana pips. The deck converts this overwhelming card flow and mana advantage into decisive burst damage through Crackle with Power, Comet Storm, or a kicked Rite of Replication targeting Terror of the Peaks. A robust suite of counterspells and redirection effects defends your commander during critical turns.
