Deck overview

Smeagol heads a Golgari engine that trades creatures for cards, drains, and opponent lands. The primary plan is aristocrat value: sacrifice tokens and recursive creatures, trigger Smeagol's Ring-tempts at each end step to steal lands, then turn those lands into landfall threats. Secondary plans are a compact Gravecrawler + Pitiless Plunderer infinite death/treasure/drain loop and token beatdown via Scute Swarm and Titania. Smeagol is an accelerator and land-thief rather than the sole win condition. Dunedain Rangers and Sam's Desperate Rescue provide extra Ring tempts, but there is no hidden commander; the deck is built around Smeagol's ability to mill and steal while the sacrifice engine drains opponents.
