Deck overview

This deck pairs Yoshimaru, Ever Faithful and Kodama of the East Tree into a focused Selesnya historic aggro strategy. The game plan opens with a Turn 1 Yoshimaru, which rapidly grows whenever any legendary permanent enters the battlefield. Green ramp accelerates into midgame legendary permanents, counter doublers like Shang-Chi, Martial Mentor, and Kodama of the East Tree. Once Kodama hits the board, every permanent drop cheats an additional card into play, expanding the board without stalling on mana. Combat enhancers like Urdnan, Dromoka Warrior and Garruk's Uprising grant double strike and trample, letting Yoshimaru knock out opponents with lethal commander damage starting on Turn 5. The deck sustains card flow through legendary-triggered engines and protects its board with cards like Skrelv, Defector Mite and Inspiring Call. It finishes the table through sequential combat eliminations by Turn 7.
