Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Abzan combo-control build centered on Ghave, Guru of Spores. It accelerates early with 1- and 2-mana ramp spells, then deploys interchangeable combo engines based on +1/+1 counters, token generation, and sacrifice loops. The deck features extreme redundancy, easily substituting pieces like Ashnod's Altar, Ivy Lane Denizen, Scurry Oak, Basking Broodscale, Cathars' Crusade, and persist/undying creatures. Once an infinite loop is active, outlets like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Blasting Station, and Altar of Dementia eliminate all three opponents in a single turn. When playing a slower game, stax and attrition engines such as Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, and Aura Shards control opposing boards at instant speed. The deck operates smoothly even without its commander due to multiple standalone two-card infinite combos in the 99.
