Deck overview

Abzan lands-matter value deck built around Thalia and The Gitrog Monster. Its primary plan is to use the commander's extra land drop, ramp sorceries, and fetchlands to trigger landfall engines such as Scute Swarm, The Necrobloom, Felidar Retreat, and Field of the Dead, while the commander's stax text slows opponents. The usual finish is a huge trampling turn with Craterhoof Behemoth or Finale of Devastation. Secondary lines use Crucible of Worlds and Titania to recur lands, plus The Gitrog Monster and The Necrobloom as a dredge-draw value engine. The commander accelerates and taxes; the deck can still run at reduced speed without it. There is no hidden commander; several legendary lands-matter cards share the engine.
