Deck overview

This deck is a hybrid Dimir typal strategy led by Captain N'ghathrod, blending evasive Pirate aggression with Horror-tribal mill and graveyard theft. The early game establishes board presence with low-curve Pirates, cost-reducers, and mana rocks. On Turn 5, casting Captain N'ghathrod grants your Horrors menace and converts combat damage into targeted milling, stealing opposing high-impact creatures and artifacts at each of your end steps. Typal unifiers such as Maskwood Nexus and Conspiracy bridge the Pirate and Horror creature bases, ensuring all attackers trigger the commander's mill and evasion abilities. Powerful alternate threats including Hullbreaker Horror, Wrexial, the Risen Deep, and Revel in Riches provide resilient backup win conditions, while versatile interaction and asymmetric sweepers like Cyclonic Rift and Kindred Dominance secure combat dominance.
