Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Aristocrats and reanimator strategy piloted by Carmen, Cruel Skymarcher. The primary game plan focuses on establishing early sacrifice outlets and death-trigger payoffs, then deploying Carmen on Turn 4 or 5. Once Carmen attacks, she creates an oppressive loop by repeatedly returning sacrifice-inducing creatures like Plaguecrafter and Accursed Marauder from the graveyard to the battlefield. This engine steadily wipes opposing creature boards, pumps Carmen into a lethal flying threat, and triggers aristocrat drain pieces like Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, and Zulaport Cutthroat. While lacking infinite combos and fast stack interaction, the deck maintains high card velocity through Skullclamp and Grim Haruspex, backed by resilient token generation from Elenda, the Dusk Rose and Teysa Karlov. Opponents face continuous attrition, leading to a table finish around Turn 9 through accumulated life drain and flying combat damage.
