Deck overview

This deck is a mono-red Dragon tribal midrange strategy commanded by Lathliss, Dragon Queen. The primary game plan focuses on establishing early mana acceleration through cost reducers like Dragonspeaker Shaman and 2-3 CMC mana rocks. Once Lathliss enters the battlefield on Turn 5, subsequent Dragon casts trigger her ability to generate 5/5 flying Dragon tokens, quickly doubling the deck's aerial power. The deck establishes a critical must-answer board presence on Turn 6 and looks to close the game on Turn 8 through overwhelming flying combat damage, supplemented by burn triggers from Scourge of Valkas and mass double strike from Terror of Mount Velus. While the deck features high redundancy among its heavy hitters and benefits from asymmetric wipes like Breath Weapon, it lacks stack-based interaction and protection against sweepers, making it vulnerable to well-timed board wipes.
