Deck overview

This Esper control deck helmed by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed combines a life-drain subtheme with a robust interaction suite to grind out long games. The primary win condition is the classic Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond infinite life-drain loop, with Enduring Tenacity as a redundant second copy of Bond. Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate serve as mana-sink finishers. Y'shtola herself provides a steady stream of card advantage and incidental damage, punishing opponents for any life loss while rewarding the pilot for casting high-impact noncreature spells. The deck leans heavily on its draw engines and tutor suite to assemble the combo, while a dense package of counterspells, removal, and stax pieces (Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, Blind Obedience, Propaganda) keeps the board under control. It is not a fast combo deck; it aims to answer threats, build incremental advantage, then close the game with a single resolved loop.
