Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats and attrition control deck uses Avacyn, Angel of Horror as a recursive powerhouse to break parity on sacrifice effects. By returning nontoken creatures to the battlefield at the beginning of each end step, the deck transforms symmetrical edicts like Accursed Marauder and Plaguecrafter into repeatable one-sided board wipes. Heavy ramp and rituals accelerate Avacyn onto the battlefield by Turn 5. Once established, the deck locks down opponents' boards and mana with Contamination and Braids, Cabal Minion, while closing the game through Gray Merchant of Asphodel drain loops and combat damage from an 8/8 flying deathtouch commander and Grave Titan armies. The deck excels at grinding out creature-based strategies and generating sustained card advantage, though it remains vulnerable to targeted exile removal, graveyard hate, and stack-based combo decks.
