Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black lifegain and drain strategy commanded by Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. The core game plan converts every instance of life gain into direct life loss for opponents. Early turns focus on deploying mana rocks and low-cost lifegain permanents such as Bontu's Monument and Gifted Aetherborn. Once Vito enters the battlefield on Turn 4, incremental lifegain steadily chips away at opponent life totals. During the mid-to-late game, the deck escalates into decisive threats including Gray Merchant of Asphodel, a kicked Blood Tribute, or a large Exsanguinate fueled by Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast. The list also includes an untutored infinite combo between Vito and Exquisite Blood that ends the game immediately upon any life change. Its chief constraints are the lack of unconditional tutors, absence of stack interaction, and reliance on unprotected creature permanents.
