Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages Mister Negative to turn suicide-black life loss into an asymmetric win condition. By intentionally dropping its own life total to near zero using repeatable payment outlets like Wall of Blood, Doom Whisperer, or Souldrinker, the deck swaps life totals with high-life opponents via Darkforce Inversion. This massive life exchange drastically reduces an opponent's life while simultaneously gaining dozens of life points for the pilot, immediately triggering drain engines like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, and Vizkopa Guildmage to eliminate the table. Backup plans like Repay in Kind, Near-Death Experience, and Axis of Mortality ensure lethal reach even without the commander. Supporting pieces such as Phyrexian Unlife and Children of Korlis provide vital safety nets during life-payment turns, while blink spells allow repeated swaps across multiple opponents.
