Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Sultai Voltron and combat-theft strategy commanded by Kotis, the Fangkeeper. Built around Kotis's indestructible keyword, the game plan focuses on deploying the commander on Turn 3, boosting its power with efficient pump spells and auras like Invigorate, Larger Than Life, and Audacity, and attacking to exile opposing libraries and cast spells for free. Because Kotis scales nonland casts directly with damage dealt, connecting for heavy hits quickly floods the battlefield with stolen permanents, ramp, and interaction while threatening lethal commander damage. The 99 incorporates high-quality mana acceleration (Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Birds of Paradise) and standalone value engines like The One Ring and Rhystic Study to sustain velocity. Without compact infinite combos, the deck closes games sequentially through combat, culminating in an overloaded Cyclonic Rift or trampling alpha strikes with Stonehoof Chieftain. Innate indestructible provides resilience against board wipes, though spot exile and sacrifice effects remain primary vulnerabilities.
