Deck overview

This deck is a five-color spellslinger combo deck centered on Codie, Ravenous Codex and creatures with the prepare mechanic. Its primary strategy involves deploying prepare creatures that double as instant and sorcery spells, then utilizing Codie's activated ability ({W}{U}{B}{R}{G}, {T}) to mass-prepare the entire battlefield. When casting prepared spells, Codie copies them, creating explosive mana and card advantage through staples like Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song, Emeritus of Ideation // Ancestral Recall, and Storm-Kiln Artist. Once the spell engine gets rolling, the deck draws through its library, generates massive mana, and terminates the table in a single turn using a lethal Crackle with Power or Stensian Sanguinist // Exsanguinate. While the deck requires careful mana fixing across all five colors and leaves Codie exposed to removal during summoning sickness, redundant prepare creatures and backup engines like Jeskai Ascendancy ensure strong recovery and independent storm lines.
