Deck overview

This deck is a high-tempo Dimir burn deck commanded by Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. The primary strategy hinges on casting cheap, unblockable one-drop creatures on turn 1, then activating Yuriko’s Commander Ninjutsu on turn 2 for {U}{B}. Because Commander Ninjutsu bypasses commander tax and cannot be countered by standard spell-countermagic, Yuriko provides immediate card draw and table-wide burn. The deck rapidly scales damage by attacking with multiple Ninjas while manipulating the top of the library with cards like Brainstorm, Lim-Dûl's Vault, and Insidious Dreams. These spells set up massive mana-value payloads such as Draco, Shadow of Mortality, and Temporal Trespass, dealing 10 to 16 life loss to each opponent simultaneously per trigger. Free counterspells like Flare of Denial, Misdirection, and Commandeer protect key combat steps without slowing mana development. The deck finishes games on turn 5 by chaining extra turns or multi-Ninja attack steps.
