Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov midrange strategy commanded by Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim that blends lifegain, aristocrat sacrifice synergies, and big-mana board finishers. In the early game, the deck establishes incremental value engines using recurring fodder such as Bloodghast and Sanitarium Skeleton alongside life-tracking permanents like Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim and Feast of the Victorious Dead. Ayli acts as an early blocker and lifegain outlet that can transition into a repeatable exile engine once your life total reaches 50 or higher. Because the deck operates with minimal low-cost ramp and limited tutoring, it plays at an unhurried, honest curve. The primary path to victory revolves around resolving high-end sorceries and creatures like Army of the Damned, kicked Josu Vess, Lich Knight, Eldrazi Conscription, or a scaled Exsanguinate. Powerful board wipes such as Farewell and Austere Command ensure you can reset opposing boards while using graveyard recursion to close out long games.
