Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Reanimator Midrange engine built around Sauron, the Dark Lord and a package of nine Nazgûl. It uses fast mana and cheap looting to deploy Sauron on turn 4. Once Sauron is in play, every Ring temptation triggered by combat damage or entering Nazgûl allows you to discard your hand and draw four fresh cards. This card velocity fills the graveyard with game-ending creatures such as Valgavoth, Terror Eater, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, and Archfiend of Ifnir, which are cheaply reanimated with Reanimate and Living Death. As your Nazgûl grow larger with each trigger, the deck applies severe combat pressure while draining life totals with Psychosis Crawler and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. Innate ward protection on Sauron and redundant recursion paths make the engine resilient, reliably closing games by turn 7.
