Alania Otter Spellslinger by Isanx

Format: Commander

Commander: Alania, Divergent Storm

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Alania, Divergent Storm is an Izzet spellslinger burn deck that wins by stacking incremental damage from casting instants and sorceries. Alania copies the first instant, first sorcery, and first Otter each turn in exchange for an opponent draw, turning cheap cantrips and interaction into double triggers for pingers like Guttersnipe, Fiery Inscription, Vivi Ornitier, and Coruscation Mage. Veyran, Harmonic Prodigy, and Twinning Staff amplify those triggers and copies, while Birgi, Storm-Kiln Artist, and Vivi generate mana to chain multiple spells per turn. Secondary paths use large X-spells such as Comet Storm, Crackle with Power, and Jaya's Immolating Inferno, often doubled by Alania or Primal Wellspring, to close after pingers have softened the table.
