Sheoldred, the Apocalypse by Shiv

Format: Commander

Commander: Sheoldred, the Apocalypse

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a mono-black control/drain deck helmed by Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. The core strategy is to force opponents to draw cards (through symmetrical effects like Seizan, Perverter of Truth, Master of the Feast, Scrawling Crawler, and Geier Reach Sanitarium) while punishing every draw with Sheoldred's trigger, Underworld Dreams, Ob Nixilis, the Hate-Twisted, and similar pain effects. Life gain from Sheoldred's own trigger and other sources fuels alternative win conditions: Sanguine Bond / Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose / Marauding Blight-Priest loops, a massive Exsanguinate, or a high-devotion Gray Merchant of Asphodel. The deck also packs board wipes, targeted removal, and recursion to grind out value, winning through incremental life loss rather than a fast combo.
