Deck overview

This deck leverages Smaug the Impenetrable as an explosive resource engine and combo outlet. Because Smaug is an 8/7 creature with flying, haste, and indestructible, he safely absorbs massive noncombat damage from cards like Blasphemous Act, Star of Extinction, and Cut Propulsion to create dozens of Treasure tokens at once. An enchanting Dizzying Gaze allows Smaug to ping himself repeatedly for infinite Treasures and infinite sacrifice triggers. The generated Treasure hoard is immediately converted into lethal table-wide damage using aristocrat payoffs such as Mirkwood Bats, Reckless Fireweaver, Nadier's Nightblade, and Mayhem Devil, or through massive mana sinks like Exsanguinate.
