Deck overview

This mono-red group slug deck helmed by Zo-Zu the Punisher turns the fundamental actions of Magic—playing lands, tapping mana, drawing cards, and casting spells—into painful attrition. By establishing early punisher permanents such as Ankh of Mishra, Eidolon of the Great Revel, and Zo-Zu on Turns 2–3, the deck immediately taxes opposing tempo and resource accumulation. As the mid-game approaches, it deploys potent damage multipliers like Torbran, Thane of Red Fell, Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, and Furnace of Rath, alongside stax pieces like Blood Moon, Price of Glory, and War's Toll to suppress counterplay and lock down nonbasic mana bases. Symmetrical damage is skewed in your favor through 33 basic Mountains, anti-lifegain engines like Sulfuric Vortex and Roiling Vortex, and defensive barriers such as Ensnaring Bridge. The game concludes rapidly around Turn 7 as accumulated trigger damage and burst finishers like Price of Progress and Acidic Soil burn down all three opponents simultaneously.
