Deck overview

This Golgari deck centers on The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride as an explosive card draw and land ramp engine. The primary game plan curves cheap mana dorks on turn two into undercosted, high-power creatures like Kalakscion, Hunger Tyrant and Shakedown Heavy on turn three. Casting The Gitrog on turn four allows an immediate saddle and attack thanks to its built-in haste and trample. Dealing combat damage lets the deck sacrifice the saddled creature to draw four to seven cards and put several lands directly onto the battlefield.
