Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Gruul combat engine led by Wulfgar of Icewind Dale. It accelerates mana on early turns using low-cost mana dorks and artifacts to deploy Wulfgar or impactful midgame creatures ahead of schedule. The deck focuses on stacking attack triggers, doubling their value through Wulfgar to generate overwhelming mana, massive token armies, card advantage, and additional combat phases. Heavy hitters like Pathbreaker Ibex, Etali, Primal Storm, Utvara Hellkite, and Elder Gargaroth rapidly overwhelm opposing life totals. In addition to broad combat overruns, the deck features an infinite combat loop using Aggravated Assault and Savage Ventmaw or Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient. While vulnerable to well-timed sweepers and lacking dedicated creature tutors, the deck compensates with substantial card draw engines, high threat density, and standalone combat powerhouses that function effectively even without the commander.
