Deck overview

This Golgari deck utilizes The Serpent Society to turn cheap deathtouch creatures into dangerous combat threats and an asymmetric attrition engine. Early turns focus on deploying efficient low-cost creatures like Bilious Skulldweller, Vampire of the Dire Moon, and Noxious Newt, followed by ramp or your commander on Turn 3. Once deployed, The Serpent Society heavily discourages opposing spot removal thanks to its ward cost of five poison counters, while punishing combat blocks by forcing each opponent to sacrifice a nontoken creature whenever your deathtouchers die. The deck's primary victory route accelerates when Fynn, the Fangbearer hits the board, converting every deathtouch combat connection into two poison counters. Backed by targeted removal like Assassin's Trophy and proliferate spells like Contagion Clasp, you rapidly accumulate poison counters to eliminate players. If poison is contained, the deck pivots into combat damage scaling via Aveline de Grandpré and life drain from Hooded Blightfang.
