Deck overview

This Marchesa, the Black Rose deck is a Grixis +1/+1 counter aristocrats build that blends theft, sacrifice, and recursion into a resilient value engine. The primary game plan is to establish a sacrifice outlet, a creature with a +1/+1 counter, and Marchesa herself to loop creatures every turn, generating card advantage, damage, and board presence. The deck wins through combat damage-often made unblockable by Herald of Secret Streams-or via mass theft spells like Insurrection and Mob Rule that steal an entire board. Secondary payoffs include All Will Be One, Goblin Bombardment, and Warstorm Surge to convert counter placement and creature enters into direct damage. The commander is a critical recursion engine but the deck can still execute its theft-and-combat plan without her.
