Deck overview

This deck is a classic Grixis control strategy built to dominate the mid-to-late game through severe attrition and asymmetric resource denial. Commanded by Lord Xander, the Collector, the list pairs a dense package of two-mana ramp artifacts with efficient countermagic, flexible spot removal, and potent sweepers like Toxic Deluge. In the early turns, the deck develops mana, filters draws using cards like Brainstorm and Sensei's Divining Top, and uses defensive enchantments like Propaganda and No Mercy to deter aggression. Once mana is established, it deploys backbreaking threats including Lord Xander, Hellkite Courser, Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh, and Rakdos, Patron of Chaos. These engines systematically tear apart opposing hands, boards, and libraries. While the deck lacks instant-kill combo lines and relies on incremental combat damage to close the game, its resilient removal suite and heavy planeswalker backup ensure total control over the table.
