Format: Commander

Commander: Minthara, Merciless Soul

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is an experience-counter aristocrats build. Minthara, Merciless Soul is the payoff: each turn she turns a sacrificed or flickered permanent into an experience counter and then gives every creature an extra point of power for each counter. The primary plan is to drain sacrifice value from tokens and recursive creatures, then explode into a huge token swing with Aang, Airbending Master or a Minthara/Sorin anthem. Secondary paths are incremental aristocrat drain and a slow poison/proliferate angle. Hidden engines are Lae'zel and Aetheric Amplifier, which multiply experience counters faster than the average hand. The commander is important but not mandatory; the deck can stall through drains if she is removed.
