Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages Liesa, Shroud of Dusk to enforce a punishing life-drain tax strategy that steadily bleeds opponents for every spell they cast. Operating on a robust 40-land base with standard 2- and 3-drop artifact acceleration, the deck aims to deploy Liesa by Turn 4 or 5. Once on the board, Liesa applies immediate passive attrition while using her 5/5 flying lifelink body to sustain your own life total. The deck compounds this attrition on Turns 6 to 8 with potent finishers such as Astarion, the Decadent, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Nykthos Paragon, and Bolas's Citadel. Liesa's unique ability to pay life instead of mana for commander tax makes the primary engine remarkably resilient to removal. While the deck lacks fast combo lines, dedicated tutors, and stack-based protection, its high density of sweepers, recursion pieces, and punishing passive taxes create an oppressive drain clock that grinds down opposing life totals effectively.
