Deck overview

This is a Boros legendary-equipment aggro list helmed by Merry, Esquire of Rohan. Merry is a two-mana haste knight who draws whenever he attacks alongside another legendary creature and picks up first strike once equipped. The ninety-nine surrounds him with cheap legends, a deep Equipment package, and many ways to attach that Equipment for free or at a steep discount. The main win is combat: pile swords and hammers onto Merry or a bigger legend, multiply the damage with double strike and extra combats, and close through commander damage or raw damage. Three extra-combat loops sit in the ninety-nine as non-linear finishes - Aggravated Assault plus Sword of Feast and Famine, Helm of the Host plus Aurelia, the Warleader, and Sword of Hearth and Home blinking Aurelia so her "first attack each turn" trigger resets. Merry is the early draw engine and a convenient Voltron body, not a combo piece; the same equipment plan still functions on Wyleth, Soul of Steel, Akiri, Fearless Voyager, or Bruenor Battlehammer if he is removed.
