Nerves of Steal by ThoughtfulWalrus

Format: Commander

Commander: Don Andres, the Renegade

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Don Andres, the Renegade leads a Grixis theft deck that wins by playing cards it doesn't own. The primary plan is to deploy Pirates and Rogues that exile opponents' cards, then cast those cards with Don Andres's buff and Treasure generation. Secondary paths are mass theft (Insurrection, Mob Rule, Rise of the Dark Realms) and artifact animation (Cyberdrive Awakener with Treasures). Don Andres is the payoff: he turns stolen creatures into 4/4+ menace/deathtouch attackers and turns stolen noncreature spells into two Treasures. The hidden commander is Breeches, Brazen Plunderer, which provides repeatable exile-and-cast value from Pirate combat damage. The deck is a midrange value engine rather than a combo deck.
