Braids Drain by ChunkyRoboMonkey

Format: Commander

Commander: Braids, Arisen Nightmare

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a mono-black sacrifice-value deck helmed by Braids, Arisen Nightmare, which turns each end step into a card-draw or life-loss engine by forcing opponents to sacrifice permanents or take damage. The primary game plan revolves around recurring cheap creatures like Gravecrawler, Reassembling Skeleton, and Bloodghast to fuel sacrifice triggers, drain effects (Syr Konrad, the Grim, Bastion of Remembrance, Vraan, Executioner Thane), and the deck's key two-card infinite-mana combo. The ultimate finisher is Torment of Hailfire with infinite mana, or a drain-out via repeated death triggers. A dense recursion package (Animate Dead, Chthonian Nightmare, Scavenger's Talent) ensures each wipe is just a speed bump, while the commander provides consistent card advantage over the long game.
