Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue draw-go control strategy that harnesses The Watcher in the Water to turn card draw on opponents' turns into a defensive army of 1/1 Tentacles. By casting instant-speed cantrips and draw spells during enemy turns, the deck steadily accumulates board presence while triggering stun counters when Tentacles block and die. As the game transitions into the mid-to-late stages, asymmetric mass bounce spells like Whelming Wave and Scourge of Fleets clear opposing boards while sparing your sea monsters. The deck converts this control advantage into a win using heavy hitters like Spawning Kraken, Serpent of Yawning Depths, and Ominous Seas to overwhelm opponents with large Krakens. While resilient against ground aggression, the deck relies on steady mana development and requires careful management of instant-speed resources to maintain card velocity and board protection.
