Deck overview

Smeagol, Helpful Guide runs a Golgari landfall/aristocrats engine that turns creature deaths into Ring tempts, milling opponents and stealing lands. The primary plan is to assemble Ashnod's Altar + Pitiless Plunderer + Reassembling Skeleton with a drain outlet (Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance, or Syr Konrad) for infinite death triggers. The commander's role is a value engine: each death can fetch a land and mill, accelerating the combo and fueling landfall payoffs. Secondary paths win through Scute Swarm/Rampaging Baloths combat or Syr Konrad mill. There is no hidden commander. The deck can function without Smeagol, but is much faster with him.
