Deck overview

This mono-black deck blends aristocratic sacrifice engines with lethal life-total manipulation. Helmed by Alpharael, Stonechosen, the list utilizes recursive creature fodder like Bloodghast and Reassembling Skeleton alongside sac outlets such as Warren Soultrader and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician to draw cards and generate mana. Its primary path to victory is assembling an infinite life-drain loop using Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror paired with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, or Sanguine Bond. If that route is contested, the deck seamlessly pivots to its commander, pairing Alpharael's attack-triggered life-halving ability with damage amplifiers like Bloodletter of Aclazotz, Archfiend of Despair, and Wound Reflection to eliminate opponents in single combat steps. Fast black rituals and unconditional tutors provide high consistency, while an abundance of efficient spot removal keeps opposing creature threats under control.
