Deck overview

This Esper deck leverages The Ur-Sphinx to power out high-impact Sphinx creatures ahead of curve. The commander provides a constant eminence cost reduction from the command zone, allowing expensive flyers to enter the battlefield early. The deck develops mana through 2-drop signets and cost reducers before establishing dominant card advantage engines such as Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign, Consecrated Sphinx, and Kindred Discovery. Once these engines are active, the deck deploys massive flying threats like Tivit, Seller of Secrets, Dream Trawler, and Elenda and Azor. Opposing attacks are deterred using pillowfort pieces like Propaganda and Ghostly Prison, while efficient spot removal and counterspells protect key permanents. Combat damage from large flyers, aided by extra turns from Medomai the Ageless and reanimation spells, systematically eliminates opponents over two to three attack cycles.
