Deck overview

This deck executes a focused Esper Sphinx typal game plan that leverages The Ur-Sphinx's Eminence ability to discount heavy flyers from the command zone. Supported by 10+ early mana rocks, the deck consistently lands value engines like Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign, Kindred Discovery, or Kozilek's Unsealing on Turn 4. On Turn 5, it transitions into critical onset by chaining large evasive Sphinxes that dominate the skies and draw deep into the 99. The deck closes games around Turn 7 via flying combat damage, accelerated by Magister Sphinx life reduction and asymmetric board wipes like Raise the Palisade and Kindred Dominance. A robust interactive package of cheap spot exile, versatile countermagic, and protective spells like Clever Concealment shields the board, while Patriarch's Bidding provides resilience against sweepers.
